How to Turn on 2-Step Verification in Gmail

Step 1: Visit the following link: https://myaccount.google.com/

Step 2: Click the Sign In button at the top right corner of the page.

Step 3: Sign in with the with Gmail account.

Step 4. Select Signing in to Google under Sign-in & security.

Step 5. Keep scrolling down until you find the “Password & sign-in method” section, click on 2-Step Verification.

Step 6. You might have to enter the password once more to open the settings.

Step 7. Then, please click GET STARTED to continue.

Step 8. In the Add phone number dialog box, enter your phone number and choose how you want to get codes (usually by SMS text message).

Step 9. Now, there will be a message containing a 6-digit confirmation code sent to your phone. Enter this confirmation code into the box“Enter the code” and click Next (If you have not received the message, click Resend button below). Click Next to continue.

Step 10. Finally, click to TURN ON to activate two-step verification.

What if I lose my phone?

In this case, you should use the Backup codes service. If your phone does not receive the code, you can use this code to sign in to your account.
